WESTBOROUGH — Library Building Committee approves $109,000 security system and multiple change orders. Vice Chair Bob Petrucelli led the committee in unanimously approving the BCM security proposal at $109,000, an increase in lead paint removal authorization to $45,000 not-to-exceed, $10,000 for plaster and electrical work in the historic stairwell, Change Order Number 8 containing 15 line items, and April vendor invoices totaling $564,874.50. The project has consumed 53 percent of contingency to date, with potential for 66 percent usage if pending work is approved.

Vertex confirmed September 1 occupancy remains the target despite a roofing subcontractor issue requiring Seaver to select a replacement vendor.
