Committee approves $149,300 construction acceleration for library project

Library Building Committee · Meeting of June 30, 2026

WESTBOROUGH — Library Building Committee advances $149,300 construction spending toward September completion. The committee unanimously approved Construction Change Directive 11 for accelerated project work, including sidewalk replacement with 20 percent cost-sharing from DPW and $164,100 in remaining contingency, and unanimously approved Amendment #4 to Vertex's contract for MEP commissioning and construction testing at no additional cost. Vice Chair Bob Petrucelli moved to keep the landscaping plan as-is; the motion tied 4 to 4, leaving the existing design in place, though Vertex will explore removing invasive plantings.
