Library Committee approves project contingencies

Westborough Library Committee OKs contingency spending on construction work. Voting unanimously, the panel approved $30,000 in lead paint removal from the 1908 building, Change Order 6 ($7,307) for electrical grounding and water-line repairs, and Change Order 7 ($131,112) for chilled-water piping installation. March vendor invoices totaling $863,465 were approved.
The committee postponed a vote on a $109,000 security system to May, with members expressing concern about project costs and interior camera surveillance.
