Westborough appoints Daniel Hehir as new Fire Chief

Westborough's Select Board unanimously appointed Captain Daniel Hehir as the town's new Fire Chief following a rigorous search process. Member Patrick Welch moved the appointment, seconded by Member Ian Johnson, with the board voting 5-0. The appointment is contingent on successful drug screening, background check, physical examination, and contract negotiations.
Hehir was one of two finalist candidates who interviewed that evening; the other was Captain Roger Busha. The selection follows Chief Patrick Purcell's retirement.
