Library trustees approve administrative assistant position reclassification

Library Board of Trustees · Meeting of May 27, 2026

Westborough library trustees approve administrative assistant position reclassification. The Library Board of Trustees unanimously voted to reclassify a Library Assistant position to an Administrative Assistant role, pending Select Board approval, intended to ease workload on Director Kate Coraccio and Assistant Director Lynne Soukup. The board voted 7-1 to remove damaged Norway maple trees from the new building's front yard, with Chair Mary Johnston dissenting.

The building project remains on track for September occupancy, though the library will not open to the public until after staff training and any unexpected repairs are completed. The board also approved a Meeting and Study Room Policy with an 18-plus age requirement, with Trustee Dorothy Mello abstaining.
