Westborough library panel approves $18,000 for door-security wiring as September 24 occupancy date holds firm. The Library Building Committee voted 9-0 to approve Construction Change Directive 13, covering wiring for electronic door hardware that no contractor had been assigned under the original plans. Project manager Mike Williams said replacement roof tile materials have finally arrived after weeks of delay, and that Seaver COO Kyle Dupel personally met with the roofing subcontractor's owner, who "said all the right things." The committee has roughly $60,000 left in contingency.
Member Kate Caraccio said she "would be concerned about allowing members of the public in before we're open to the public," prompting the panel to keep meeting on Zoom even after occupancy. The next meetings are set for September 15 and September 29.
