Dem forum breaks down nine ballot questions
Other Committee · Meeting of September 29, 2026
Westborough Democratic forum previews nine statewide ballot questions and a polling-place switch. Town Clerk Debbie Ledoux confirmed Election Day voting moves from Westborough High School to the Bay State Commons community center, a change the Select Board approved September 8. Attorney Elise Levine Kanji urged a yes vote on question 9 to preserve the 2024 gun-safety law, noting Smith & Wesson gave $50,000 to the repeal campaign.
CPCS social worker Carol Higginson pushed question 2, allowing her agency's roughly 800 to 1,000 employees to unionize, saying "I don't really like being told I'm equal to mileage and pencils." Trust for Public Land's Melissa Green said question 6 could direct up to $100 million a year to conservation. State Rep. Kate Donahue said Amazon has paused its drone-delivery permit push pending a Zoning Board of Appeals ruling on whether the site is an airport.
