Westborough's Advisory Finance Committee backs $10,000 equipment transfer for weights and measures. Finance Director Jon Steinberg presented the request to support the inspection function following its recent operational shift under Community Development, which was approved at Town Meeting. The Committee voted unanimously, 6-0-0, to approve the funds for training and equipment needs.
Steinberg acknowledged some uncertainty about existing town-owned equipment but said the department expects to identify current resources and minimize new purchases, with procurement expected within a month.
