Westborough Council on Aging Launches Senior Resource Guide Project at March Meeting
Westborough Council on Aging commits to senior resource guide and reviews 2023 needs assessment findings.
WESTBOROUGH -- March 9, 2026, Westborough Council on Aging commits to senior resource guide and reviews 2023 needs assessment findings. At its March 9 meeting, the council approved minutes from December and January, heard that January transportation ridership dropped to 306 rides, down roughly 50 from prior months due to holiday and weather closures, and received a detailed review of the 2023 Senior Needs Assessment, which drew responses from more than 1,600 Westborough households and produced a 53-item implementation plan covering housing, transportation, caregiver support, facility improvements, programming, and outreach. Two council members volunteered to draft a comprehensive resource guide to every senior service in town, with a target presentation date of April 13. Staff also described a new intergenerational partnership with Post 22 at Bay State Commons, where a weekly Tuesday senior coffee hour will launch, and flagged ongoing discussions about potentially rebranding the senior center, possibly as an "active living senior center", though no vote was taken on any rebranding language.
