Finance Committee · Meeting of September 17, 2026
Westborough's Advisory Finance Committee reviewed Fall Town Meeting warrant articles and corrected a drafting error that had understated an affordable housing trust award by $1 million. Finance Director Jonathan Steinberg said a permitting-software request dropped from about $70,000 to $38,000, with roughly $30,000 of conversion costs absorbed by department budgets. Member Walter Leslie said Affordable Housing Trust Chair Allen Edinburg will brief the committee September 28, and Member Jane Clapp said Police Chief Minardi will attend October 1 on a separate article.
Member Walter Leslie reported the new library building remains "still on track to be under budget," with occupancy expected by early November. The committee voted 7-0-1 to approve its September 10 minutes as amended and 8-0 to adjourn, with no votes yet taken on the warrant articles themselves.
