Westborough Veterans Board plans flag placement, Memorial Day ceremonies

Westborough Veterans Advisory Board sets flag placements and Memorial Day volunteer roster. All slots for the May 30 Memorial Day ceremony are filled, with final scheduling confirmed for the Knights of Columbus Hall opening at 8:30 a.m., buses departing at 9:30 a.m. for St. Luke's Cemetery, and buses supplied free by schools and the Senior Center.
Flag placement dates were fixed for veteran gravesites April 11, Memorial Day May 16-30, Independence Day June 27-July 11, and Veterans Day November 7-14. The VFW, with newly elected Commander Tony Pittman and 1st Vice President Mike VanNest, will sponsor the town's June 26 250th anniversary celebration with fireworks and a veterans-led parade.
