Westborough is marking the retirement of longtime Fire Chief Patrick Purcell this week, closing out a long chapter of public safety leadership as the town's Fire Chief Search Committee prepares to meet to plan next steps.

The Fire Chief Search Committee is scheduled to meet Thursday, August 6, at 8:30 a.m. at Memorial Hall in Westborough Town Hall, as the town begins the process of identifying a successor to Chief Purcell.
