Advisory Finance Committee · Meeting of March 21, 2026
Westborough Advisory Finance Committee backs $8.8 million wastewater project amendment. Chair P. Ahuja and members voted unanimously to recommend that town meeting approve the reduced wastewater treatment plant repair borrow, down from a $10.5 million engineer's estimate based on a lower construction bid.
The revised amount covers construction, project oversight, engineering, and contingencies. During town meeting, the committee also voted unanimously to recommend defeat of three citizen-proposed budget amendments: increasing free cash for tax reduction from $450,000 to $900,000, raising Animal Control expenses from $3,200 to $5,000, and boosting Council on Aging expenses from $30,300 to $50,000. Eight members were present.
