Veterans board votes to suspend summer meetings

Veterans' Advisory Board · Meeting of June 15, 2026

WESTBOROUGH — Veterans board votes to suspend summer meetings. The Westborough Veterans Advisory Board, chaired by Marshall Preston, voted unanimously to cancel June, July, and August gatherings, with the next meeting set for September 14 at Central One Federal Credit Union. The board confirmed a veteran's parade for June 26 as part of the town's 250th American Revolution celebration, to depart at 5:30 p.m. from the Food Pantry, with the VFW distributing 350 t-shirts and fireworks scheduled 9:15 to 9:30 p.m. from Rogers Field.

During open forum, resident David Norse presented research identifying 245 Westborough Revolutionary War volunteers, many without memorial recognition, and requested board support for a new monument honoring the complete roster.
