Veterans' Advisory Board · Meeting of February 9, 2026

WESTBOROUGH — Veterans Advisory Board endorses flag-usage restrictions from Soldiers Memorial Committee. The board voted unanimously with one abstention to back the recommendation during its February 9 meeting at Central One Federal Credit Union. Chair Marshall Preston and nine attending members heard Superintendent Allison Borchers present on school budget coordination with veteran organizations; the board is planning its Memorial Day ceremony with volunteers Maury Hiers, Del Richmond, and Al Tournas, while a 250th American Revolution Committee plans a town celebration using the town's $30,000 allocation from leftover 2017 funds, with projected fireworks costs of $26,000 to $30,000 requiring additional fundraising.
