WESTBOROUGH — Trustees of Soldiers Memorials vote to restrict flagpole to patriotic flags. The board voted 4-2 to send a joint letter, signed by the Veterans Advisory Board, American Legion, and Veterans of Foreign Wars, opposing the flying of any flags other than the United States flag and the POW/MIA flag on the pole at the Forbes Municipal Building memorial. Chair Mark Brady, Lee Strout, Burton Christensen, and Paul Freeman voted in favor; Sean Keogh and Geoff Spofford opposed.
Brady reported that engravings for Thomas Whittles and Nathan Harris are proceeding at Whitinsville Monuments for $295 each, and the board has $3,147.40 remaining in its FY 2026 budget.
