Sustainable Westborough approves energy code warrant article and EV charger sites.

Sustainable Westborough · Meeting of February 11, 2026

WESTBOROUGH — Sustainable Westborough unanimously backs Specialized Energy Code warrant article and approves four EV charger sites. Chair Peter Flynn and members voted to support the code, which applies to new construction and would lower greenhouse gas emissions and unlock state grant funding for energy upgrades; committee also approved all four proposed EV charger locations—South Street parking lot, Community Center, Pickleball courts, and Fire Station—though Jeff Levine and Sustainability Coordinator Leila Ahmed will prioritize them pending updated cost data from EnergySource. The committee separately approved three annual expenditures: $120 for Firefly meeting-minute software, $144 for Constant Contact mass-email renewal, and $120 for Canva Pro design tool.

Schools represent 50 percent of municipal greenhouse gas emissions, according to the Decarbonization Roadmap now under review.
