Sustainable Westborough advances grant-funded projects, plans EV expo.

WESTBOROUGH — Sustainable Westborough advances green infrastructure and EV planning. The committee secured a $219,750 Green Communities grant for transformer replacements at Mill Pond and the high school, with National Grid incentives covering all installation costs. Coordinator Leila Ahmed reported receipt of a second-round Municipal Vulnerability Preparedness grant and is coordinating two working groups with school facilities and utility partners.
The committee approved an EV Expo for September 20, unanimously, and is exploring Power Options' Community Charge program to reduce upfront charger installation costs; members Jeff Levine and Ahmed are assessing feasibility. Select Board member Patrick Welch urged integrated governance across town and school departments to optimize grant timing and project sequencing across competing funding cycles.
