Planning Board continues five subdivisions and approvals; residents voice stormwater concerns at Ruggles Street hearing.
Planning Board · Meeting of March 17, 2026
Westborough Planning Board approved one tree-plan modification and continued five applications to April dates at its March 17 meeting. Chair Hazel Nourse presided over a 5-0 approval of a revised street tree plan for West Park Drive Extension that allows retention of existing trees and the planting of 35 new trees to meet bylaw requirements. The board unanimously continued hearings on subdivisions at 50 Flanders Road, 5 Technology Drive, Oak Street, and 228 Ruggles Street, where abutters submitted a letter alleging the stormwater system fails to meet Massachusetts standards and voiced concerns about removal of a five-acre forest that shields their homes from Massachusetts Turnpike noise and pollution.
The board also approved a minor modification allowing front yard setback reduction to 21 feet for Lots LL44 and LL46 in The Ridings subdivision, conditioned on construction of a functional safety fence.
