WESTBOROUGH — Historical Commission approves witness house plaque initiative with $4,500 budget. Vice Chair Margy Peairs opened the March 25 meeting with five members present, welcoming newly appointed member Tracy Cunningham. The Commission tasked Heather Abraham with researching plaque vendors for properties among 39 identified witness houses; Cindy Dubose reported several already display plaques.

Rod Shaffert volunteered for the Midland Cemetery cleanup project, which includes approximately 250 gravestones identified in a 2015 assessment for repair; the Commission has two years to spend its CPA-awarded funds with a state match of approximately 15.5 percent. The Commission also finalized plans for an MA250 booth featuring maps, brochures, interactive historical displays, and a new commission banner.
