Committee endorses fireworks for 250th Revolutionary anniversary celebration

250th American Revolution Anniversary Committee · Meeting of January 5, 2026

Westborough 250th Revolution Committee approves fireworks for anniversary celebration. The committee voted 6 to 1 to authorize Town Manager Kristi Williams to move forward with three fireworks proposals, with Andrew Ramsey dissenting. Coordination with the Police Chief, Fire Chief, Recreation Director, and Public Works Director revealed the need for additional funding beyond the current budget and a warrant article at the next town meeting.

The committee also unanimously approved seven complementary activities including a Declaration of Independence reading, a reenactment, historical tours and shuttle buses, a horse and wagon display, an education component, a walking app, and veterans coordination.
