Committee approves invitation for Vision Zero speed limit presentation

Westborough committee advances Vision Zero initiative and secures planning grant. The Active Transportation & Safety Committee unanimously approved an invitation for the Central Massachusetts Regional Planning Commission to present on adopting town-wide 25 mph speed limits, advancing the town's Vision Zero goals including 20 mph school zones near the high school. Westborough received a $130,000 active transportation grant with $125,000 allocated to consultant VHB and $5,000 held in reserve; work will kick off by early June over a one-year timeline.

The committee is also advancing a feasibility study for the Fisher Street, Milk Street, and Church Street intersection and continues monitoring construction on an Otis Street sidewalk project.
